Yes, Fang really loves Max and Max really loves him. Of course there is a few problems along the way, just like any relationship but, regardless, they get together at the end of the series.

Max and fang are madly in love there soalmates and for acouple of books they are perfect together but then they get an annonomus note saying that in order to save the world max and fang can't be together so fang leaves and replaces max with Maya(max look alike) and max replaces fang with Dylan (complete opposite of fang) but max and fang are still in love even so but they know they have to save the world
