Best Answer

The acorn, or oak nut, is the nut of the oaks

It usually contains a single seed

Acorns take between about 6 or 24 months (depending on the species) to mature

it is a wild plant eaten by squirrels and can be planted

so it is living organism i guess

Usually when acorns fall from the trees, they are taken to be stored for winter by squirrels. Therefore, they are moved away from the tree. If they are not eaten, then the rain will naturally moisten the earth's surface and allow the acorn to go below the surface. There the acorn's shell will decompose over time, and allow a tree to start growing, like any other plant. Eventually you'll have a tree.

The acorn seed can live for months after falling or being pulled off a tree.
