Because they were bred for different purposes. Clydesdale horses were bred to pull things such as wagons and plows. Thoroughbred horses were bred to race. Arabian horses can tolerate higher temperatures because they have thinner skin. Since there were four Original Types of horse Pony Type One= Exmoor type ponies Pony Type Two= Highland Ponies Horse Type Three= Akhal Teke type horses Horse Type Four=Caspian type horses they were established by and due to the different climates they lived in when they originated
There is many different horse breeds, some examples are the Appaloosa, the American Quarter Horse, The Mustang, the Arabian, the Pinto or Paint, and The Finn horse. There are also Pony breeds too like the Shetland, Welsh, Pinto ponies, Paint ponies, and many others.
Well, there are the draft horses, such as Clydesdales, Shires, Belgians, etc, that are not suited for dressage, but for farm work or for pulling heavy loads. The Lipizzaners on the other hand, are very graceful and are used for various means of showing. There are obvious differences between the graceful Arabian or Andalusian and the strong and powerful Belgain Warmblood or Clydesdale. Then you have the ponies. Shetlands, Welshes, and Falabellas are small and more pet like, and Thoroughbreds are used for racing and riding. Same for Quarter horses, except they are used for shorter distances. Fresians and Standardbreds are cart horses or riding. Many breeds are used for different purposes and all are very practical and enjoyable. I hope I was helpful in covering most of the groups.
No, they are all different. They have different conformation, different strenghts and weaknesses, different uses, etc.
no there are all different types
eg dartmoor, new forest, thouroghbred(race horse.)........
Most were created that way. Much like why there are so many species of bird...or any other multi-species animal. Some were bred that way. Breeding fast horses with strong ones might produce a fast and strong horse for example.
they have been bred over hundreds of years to be the fastest. if a random non-racing breed popped out a super fast horse it could race after it proved itself.
calback is one type of horse
