Smooth Collies are and soon Rough Collies will be too, because people are so focused on breeds like the Border Collie or a lab/retriever. It seems to me people are no longer fascinated by the breed or they have simply forgotten about this wonderful dog. I own 2 Smooth Collie's.

∙ 15y agoYes, there are breeds of horses that are becoming very rare. and some that are endangered. It was even reported in a 6/2008 edition of USA Today that a reverse vasectomy had been performed on an endangered horse breed "Przewalski" to help sustain it's breed, it was the first of it's kind performed on a horse. The surgery was a success. The operation was performed in 10/2007 and in 5/2008 the reversal was confirmed. Wild mustangs are also becoming endangered because of hunting.

Are Border Collies the same breed of dog as Collies?
Yes. Years ago, when they were being developed as a breed, they were basicly selectivly bred mixes. Now they have become a true breed registered with many Kennel Clubs and fairly popular pets.
