Apple cores are fine for dogs in moderation. The seeds in the apple core do contain a small amount of cyanogenic glycosides but a dog would have to eat a very large amount of just seeds to get cyanide poisoning. As far as I can find there has never been a confirmed case of a dog dieing as a result of poisoning from an apple core.

∙ 14y agoI have been feeding apples to my dogs for breakfast for the past 7 yrs. I only use organic apples and use a veggie spray when cleaning them. I have a dog with kidney disease and was told by my nutritionist they are very healthy for the kidneys. I have 6 dogs and they all have been eating apples for years. Never a problem and I do blood work on everyone once a year. Anytime you feed your dogs fruit, make sure you peel the skins off. Dogs can't digest skins.

∙ 12y agoNo, apple cores are not good for dogs, the apple seeds contain a small amount of poison that could react with your dogs digestive system and the dog could die. Please don't feed your dog anything other than it's dog food, my dog died because it ate a cheeto...yes one cheeto, he was allergic to one of the ingredients.
