They can be harmful to some people particularly if their bed gets severely infested and after the bedbugs breed and multiply in or near their bed over time. Bed bugs can be kept at bay with bed protector.

Bed bugs bites appear differently for different people. For some the bite may be quite evident with a large red mark or swelling on the skin. For others it may appear as large welts on the skin and for some it may show no signs at all. Bed bug bites do not itch immediately as the person is being bitten as in the case of a mosquito bite. The reason for this is bed bugs secrete a special enzyme that acts as anesthetic numbing the skin in the bite area and preventing any feelings of the bite. That means a bed bug can latch on to a bite area for hours feasting all while the host feels nothing. Sometimes, they can spread disease . Here is an example;

A Bedbug bites a sick person. Then, it bites little Suzie. The germs of the sick person is passed on to Little Suzie!!
