Are certain roles assigned to the men and women of the Seventh-day Adventist Church?

Women are permitted to hold offices within the Seventh-day Adventist church at the local and GC level. Men are typically ordained as pastors, but there is nothing to say that a woman cannot hold office in the General Conference. There are women currently working in that office.

As far as prohibiting women from holding office, no. However, there are certain roles at the local level that are always reserved for men/women. For example, most churches have positions for deacons/deaconesses. Obviously, the deacons would be men and the deaconesses women. Each church decides how many deacons or deaconesses they need. They do jobs like assisting baptismal candidates (hence the need for male and female deacons/deaconesses) and caring for the communion linens/dishes. Most churches also have elders, which are always men. They generally oversee the needs of the congregation. Oftentimes, certain families are assigned to them.

To make sure that the community is well taken care of and is thought about the love of christ and that children must be grommed with the teachings of God
