A crab is not an insect. It is classed as a Crustacean. Crabs are more closely related to arachnids (Spiders, scorpions, etc.),than to insects, being that they have four pair of legs, rather than three and only two main body sections (insects have three).

Crabs (also called pubic lice) are a parasitic insectthat inhabit a persons pubic area and is spread sexually. It is considered an STD (sexually transmitted desease). It may also be possible to spread through bed linen and clothing. There are lotions you can get without a prescription to treat it and get rid of it.
Crab is also a name fora type of crustacean usually living in water.
