Giraffes are herbivores and typically fall into the prey category. Lions from time to time attack giraffes. If you talk to a tree that a girafee feeds on I am sure they will consider a giraffe a predator. In the grand scheme of things a giraffe grazes on the primary producer and is number 2 in the food chain so to speak. The lion would be number three and thus helps to keep the giraffe population in check.
They are mostly prey because they get eatin by cheetahs.
They are mostly prey because they get eatin by cheetahs.
A giraffe is an herbivore, so it is not a predator. However, there are not too many animals that would hunt a giraffe, unless of course, you count humans... so I would have to say a giraffe is prey.
Prey. Giraffe's are herbivores meaning they only eat plants, because of this they are not classified as a predator. Predators are animals that hunt other animals and eat meat (Carnivores)
well the giraffes are herbivores so they dont have prey, i dont know about predators
NO according to every specie giraffe is no prey to any other animal
They're not predators, they are primary consumers as they eat plants, fruit and vegetables. They do not hunt as such. They are prey, packs of lions have been known to attack them.
Giraffe are herbivores, so they are never predators.
giraffe is a prey
The Giraffe lives in a jugle/forest. It is a herbivore and therefore eats leaves. It is a prey for carnivores.
A giraffe is not a very vulnerable animal. In fact, as cute as they appear, giraffes can be fierce fights and they do hunt down their prey.
The giraffe has a golden appearance but what most people do not know is that they mostly consist of feathers. On there skull, they have the worlds biggest horns and it gouges its prey with them.

The giraffe is an herbivore rather than a carnivore. This means that it primarily feeds on tall tree branches and shrubbery.
Big cats(Lions,Cheetahs,Leopards etc.) can often leap high enough in the air to get on a giraffe's back. The lion will bite the back of the giraffe and bust through the skin then hit a nerve on it's spine if the lion fails to bust skin or fails to get on the giraffe's back the lion could fall off and risk hurting its self or being trampled by a giraffe.
Yes. Due to their sheer size, adult Giraffe's are not vulnerable to predators like leopards, hyenas, wild dogs etc. However, calf's are very vulnerable to predators. An Adult leopard can easily bring down a giraffe calf and kill it. but, an Adult is ruled out
In the wild - probably not. While asleep, a giraffe is an easy prey for a pride of lions, or maybe even a hyena pack.
No, a cheetah's stomach could never contain an entire giraffe, even a baby one. If you're asking if a cheetah could kill a giraffe and eat part of it, then yes, cheetahs do sometimes prey on infant giraffes. Adult giraffes, though, are rather formidable, and few predators are capable of taking them down... even lions seem to prefer to prey on calves rather than adults. The only serious predator of adult giraffes is humans.
No. Lions don't hunt or eat Leopards. Their usually prey species include Gazelles, Wildebeest, Zebra's, Buffalos and even an occasional giraffe or elephant calf. However, they will kill a leopard when they see or catch one to cut down on the competition for prey species.
Yes. The giraffe has many predators. Due to their sheer size, adult Giraffe's are not vulnerable to predators like leopards, hyenas, wild dogs etc. However, large lion packs headed by large Adult Male lions have been known to hunt down a full grown giraffe. But, this is very rare. On the other hand, calf's are very vulnerable to predators. A lion pack can easily kill a giraffe calf or even an adolescent. Hyena and wild doc packs too are known to prey on giraffe calves.
