I would say omnivorous prey. Being rodents, They are a prey animal. They are omnivorous, because while their diet is mainly made up of grains, seeds, and vegetaition, They are also opportunistic, and being rodents, they will pretty much eat what's available. I give my mother and babies boiled eggs, as old, young and pregnant hamsters need more protein, but I'm sure they'd probably survive without it, as long as they are provided a good diet and plenty of food available at all times.
