Yes! Hippos are my favorite animal, and I have done a couple of projects on them in school. :) They eat aquatic plants and such, but no meat.
by searching for it at night, they leave water and walk as long as 5 miles to find their food, they eat no meat (herbivores) so they eat vegs, fruits, GRASS MOSTLY, plants, bushes...etc.
Now hippos happen to have to have extra weight bu they are really from the pig family. So that explains the extra weight.
