It will depend on your computing needs like e.g.
* Applications you plan to run
* Where do you need to use the computer and do you need it to be portable so that you can take it along with when traveling?
* How much processing power do you need for your applications?
* Do you need your computer to be easily upgradeable for processor, graphics etc.
* Budget
Laptops designs are generally constraint by weight and size of components which can be put in the machine so at the same price you can desktops more powerful configuration. Larger harddisk capacities and faster processors are available for desktops. For gaming desktops are recommended. Service and upgrades are cheaper for desktops. But if portability is the main requirement and you want a computer which can be easily carried in a bag or backpack then laptop is the only choice.

The answer will depend on the user instead of the computer.
If the user works in a specific place or the computer is shared, a desktop is more powerful and carries more features for the price. It is also simpler to service, manage and secure. Games will run better and upgrades to hard drives, memory and video are very simple.
If the computer is special purpose (carried by an on-call worker) or needs to be used in multiple places at different times then the laptop (or desktop replacement) maybe a better choice. It is not likely to have the same power or features and is more difficult to service, manage and repair, but it's really not feasible for most people to have a desktop computer in the car. The downside is that as the laptop carries more features and power, it becomes heavier and less able to operate away from AC power.
The third choice, and a further step up the portability ladder is the UMPC or Ultra Mobile Personal Computer. These have tiny screens and keyboards, and few options but they are uniquely suited to provide basic computer power on the go. They may not have a CD/DVD or a floppy, but the lack of features is an acceptable trade IF you need hours of portable operations to do basic office tasks. Another possible downside is that most of these do not upgrade. What you buy is what you have and little customization is possible.
This comes down to what your needs are and which you like. If you just doing basic stuff, emails, on-line games like on FB, streaming movies and stuff like that, then a laptop would work. If you are a hard core PC gamer, video editing, programming and stuff like that, then a desktop could be better. I run a laptop for just about everything except for gaming. I do video/photo editing, programming, all sorts of stuff. So it can really just come down to what you want and what you need it to do
If you like the desktop computer, you should get one. Tablets are extremely fashionable, portable, and the focus of much development these days, but they lack the full keyboard and there is still much room for improvement on them. If you purchase a tablet, it is likely that there will be a newer, more exciting model coming out in a few short months, whereas you seem to like and feel comfortable with desktops.
Laptops and Computers are even computors allways charged but can't bring them on vacation laptops allways have to be charged but most places have wifi
I would say a laptop because it is portable .. it is easier to carry around ...
Laptop computer is the better deal. With a laptop computer you can be on the go and take it everywhere with you, while a desktop computer is pretty stable. You can only use it in one place.
Desktop computers differ from laptops and notebooks because they are not portable like laptops and notebooks. Desktop computers are usually your personal pc computers with windows and/or apple operating systems. Laptop computers are great as they are portable and can be used anywhere there is wifi service as are notebooks.
at the back of the laptops is a cooling fan, it is not as powerful as the desktop computers but if is sufficent if you play games on the laptop it might over heat there for it would be better to play games on a desktop computer!!
typewriters laptops and desktop boards
Well, for one thing, laptops are basically computers. They can compute like, what I'm guessing you're referring to, desktop computers. However, Desktop computers are actually cheaper to own that laptops, if you look at a comparison of price to performance. So in a sense, you get more bang for your buck with desktop computers as compared to laptops. If you're looking at matinence costs, etc., then it would still be cheaper to own a desktop pc. Laptops have a much higher chance of getting broken that desktop computers, and of course, data theft is a large problem with laptops if you accidentally leave yours in an airport or other public place.
Sony uses memory sticks, but its not the kind your thinking of, which are better suited for laptops and desktop computers.
Well laptops are way more similar to desktop computers in many perspectives
The reasons why new computers get bad ratings when they are indeed so much better than before is because desktop computers can not be carried anywhere you want like laptops do.
It is probabely because it is portable and desktop's aren't. and for Laptops can you can probabely Burn DVD's and for Desktops of the past you can't do that. For the new Desktop's you can. Desktops aren't portable but Laptops are.
You don't, DVD burners come on desktop computers/laptops
It depends entirely on the computer. No brand is inherently better than another. Computers are the sum of their parts.
- accessing data away from home and office. - playing game while travlle
Desktop PCs tend to run faster and are capable of having more storage than laptop computers. As an added bonus, desktop computers are normally less expensive.
