"Viviparous" means to give birth to live young. Marsupials, like all other mammals with the exception of monotremes (echidna and platypus) give birth to live young. The difference is that the young are very undeveloped at birth, and do most of their development within the mother's pouch.
Marsupials are in fact Viviparous. Unlike Eutherian mammals though, they give birth to young at a very early stage in which the young is not fully developed. At this point the young attached to the mothers nipple in the pouch and remain attached for weeks. Later the offspring passes through a stage where it temporarily leaves the mothers pouch returning for warmth and nourishment.
