no Michelin tires are made at a factory in Shenyang, China. They are exported all over the World from there.
Michelin is one of the world's biggest tire companies. They started in France and are now world -wide and make many excellent tires.
General Tire has apparently not made the 245/70/R 19.5 lately. - Your best choices available now in that size would be Kumho, Hankook, Toyo, Michelin or Goodyear. ( ranging in cost from least to highest ) In my opinion, the Michelin at about $ 400 is your best choice. Michelin tires are widely available across north America and Europe.
I personally recommend Michelin LTX M/S, but they are proud of their tires and the price proves that. A similar tire would be a Definity tire from Pep-Boys if you have one of those close to you. That is their line that they directly compete with Michelin on. That is what I have on my truck now and they seem to be holding up very well... Not like the $200 Bridgestone Alenza tires that I put on... Those were crap! If money isn't an object, then go for the Michelin tires... I believe the Pep Boy Definity is just as good and not as expensive...
They are comparable now (IMO) I would not buy Michelins no matter what you get-they are way overpriced. I can't think of any brand more expensive
They are made in China now.
Most are now made in China.
Federal corporation manufactures a great line of tires. The original manufacturing headquaters is located in Taoyuan, Jhongli City, Taiwan and there is a second plant in China now.
Not anymore. It is now made in China
They are made in China because they are cheaper to produce there.
Hitachi used to be made in Japan, but it is now made in China.
