Yes, because in lots of school that does not have uniforms, there are students who get bullied frequently because they can not afford fashionable clothes. So there are school uniforms, there will be less bullying going around the school. Unless you have to but something for your school uniform then you will get picked on if your pants are dirty and so on, but seriously.

ummm.... how is this a rhetorical question?? Some say school uniforms can encroach on a students individuality; some say school uniforms can put a learning environment on equal footing for everyone involved.

I go to a school with uniforms and I think they have both made it harder for a student to be an individual and improved the learning environment. So for the most part, yes (but the students may not be very happy with the decision to use uniforms!).

In my opinion, I think uniforms can solve many problems that Administrators have with schools, but it doesn't help to teach the Kids anything. Most people seem to think that it "evens out the playing field", but kids will be kids no matter what you make them wear. I feel that uniforms are merely a device so teachers don't have to deal with teaching real life skills as well as book facts. If you ask me i think that school uniforms will help a lot. They would help put forth people effort. because they don't have to worry about people making fun of them. When someone would try to make fun of someone it would be like they are making fun of their self because they have on the same thing. It would also keep people more focused on their work because they don't have to worry about ahat someone else is wearing. They would already know because they have on the same thing. They're really nothing more than a pain in the morning getting dressed. I've been to schools with uniforms and schools without uniforms and I really don't think it's about the learnign environment I think that it's to keep teachers from seeing some kid's underwear all day. Teachers, like most other adults, are confused and infuriated by the way teenagers dress so the school decides whether or not its a serious issue among teachers. And just to be completely honest, ths is my opinion from studying the dirty looks of one too many teachers in non dress-code oriented schools. and i can make fun of a fat kid in a uniform that im wearing.. why not?? same with an ugly kid or someone to whom i feel superior. I'm not saying that i pick on people who are lesser than me, I'm trying to point out that uniforms dont change physical traits, and that children often make fun of whoever they want, regardless of clothing... although that can be taken into account as well.

Against uniformsYes, because they are ugly, and manage to make everyone look bad. They also cost a lot of money and get dirty and worn pretty quickly. They don't allow for personal taste, and can also be inappropriate for the weather.

wearing school uniform is compulsory in secondary school especially in singapore context. just imagine the disciplinary of the students if there is no school uniform. wearing school uniform symbolizes their school and give a sense of belonging to them. most parents and teachers will be against the idea of wearing other apparels but students think that they should have the right to express their indivuality. i believe that we should wear school uniform, as it benefits the family, school and students as well.

firstly , wearing school uniform will definitely benefit the students. if they wear other apparels , it will be far more time consuming. if they are going to wear other apparels everyday, it will be very troublesome waking up early in the morning just to choose the right clothes for school. this will lead to unnecessary spending as the students will need to shop for enough clothes to last.
