Sheep (Ovis ares) are a more general term for lambs. Also, lamb can also be confused with hogget and mutton. A lamb is a young sheep under 12 months of age which does not have permanent incisor teeth, while hogget refers to sheep having no more than two permanent incisor teeth and mutton refers to sheep having more than two permanent incisor teeth.
It is when an old sheep has broken or missing teeth due to old age. It usually affects adults 4 years or older, and can be caused by gingivitis or a loss in teeth. It is a cause of chronic wasting disease and prevention is through checking teeth regularly.
The teeth of sheep have adapted for the function of eating. Depending on where the sheep lives, its teeth and jaw will be different. The teeth will adapt to its food, making it the easiest for the sheep to eat, and those sheep will reproduce.
Yes sheep and goats both have front teeth but neither have top teeth at all- similar to a cow
