I completely disagree with that statement. Spanking a child teaches them right from wrong. I'm currently in highschool, and I can easily tell which adolecents were spanked as children, and which weren't. The ones who are rude and don't pay attention, and also back talk to the teachers, if you ask them, they will tell you that there parents never laid a hand on them. Most of my friends, who are the kids that get good grades, obey rules, and are socially acceptable...they were spanked as children.

Now, look at my generation, and compare it to my parents generation. The generation before me had different standards growing up. If they misbeahved, they got hit. Even at school by teachers. They pretty much all turend out peachy. Now, there is my generation...I can't think of more then 15 students at my school who don't smoke marajuana, and drink, and smoke, and have unprotected sex. I fully blame it on parents being incapable of handing out punishment where punishment is due.
