not only more efficient, but with tax breaks and gas company credits they are very competitive pricewise if you can find a floor model like i did. even if you can't it will pay for itself in 2 years and has a longer warranty than a tank

Are tankless water heaters electric or do you need to get propane?

Tankless water heaters can be powered by electricity or propane. Electric tankless water heaters are more common, but propane tankless water heaters are popular in regions where natural gas is not available. Both types offer energy efficiency and the convenience of on-demand hot water.

What are the comparative advantages and disadvantages of electric and solar water heaters?

Solar hot water heaters need sunlight to work. While you can store the heat and create closed loop systems that protect the system from freezing, the use of solar hot water heaters really makes sense if you have full sun exposure and are willing to moderate your usage. It also may cost more to install a domestic solar hot water system. These can run on 12v oe 11v for the pump, or you could go passive- there are many different types and options. Check Home Power mag. Electric hot water systems come in two flavors; tank and tankless. For electric tank systems, the cost of heating water with electricity can be quite large. These tank heaters store hot water and are using electricity just to keep the tank warm. This is not very efficient even with insulating blankets. Once you run out of hot water in the tank(as cold rushes in) your shower is over. The heater itself is usually inexpensive. Plumbing is straignt foward, with 30 to 40 amp 220V feed required. Tankless water heaters or "on demand" water heaters (both gas and electric) are fantastic! They are the least expensive to operate, and fairly simple to install. The electric tankless heater requires no exhust ducting and is perfect for under the counter usage or with larger units can heat the water for an entire home. The tankless design never runs out of water! These are perfect for solar installations that may encounter weeks of cloudy weather. The units are more expensive than tank heaters, and usually require 220v service (if electric). if your doing reseach on this great if not get a life losers

How efficient are oil heaters compared to other types of heating systems?

Oil heaters are generally less efficient than other types of heating systems, such as natural gas or electric heaters. This is because oil heaters have lower energy efficiency ratings and can be more expensive to operate.

Are infrared heaters energy efficient compared to other types of heaters?

Infrared heaters are generally considered to be more energy efficient than other types of heaters because they heat objects directly, rather than heating the air in a room. This can result in lower energy consumption and cost savings.

Central water heater vs individual water heater?

A central water heater serves multiple fixtures from one unit, while individual water heaters provide hot water to each fixture separately. Central water heaters are generally more cost-effective and energy-efficient for larger homes or buildings, while individual water heaters offer more control over temperature and usage for each fixture. Individual water heaters may require more maintenance but can prevent the loss of hot water to all fixtures if one unit breaks down.

What are the main differences between a tankless water heater and a tank water heater, and which one is more efficient for providing hot water in a household?

A tankless water heater heats water on demand, while a tank water heater stores and heats a large amount of water continuously. Tankless heaters are more efficient because they only heat water when needed, while tank heaters can waste energy keeping water hot. Tankless heaters are generally more efficient for providing hot water in a household.

What is the cost comparison between a tank and tankless water heater?

Tankless water heaters typically have a higher upfront cost compared to traditional tank water heaters. However, tankless water heaters are more energy-efficient and can result in lower long-term operating costs.

What are the most energy-efficient options for home water heaters?

The most energy-efficient options for home water heaters are tankless water heaters and heat pump water heaters. Tankless water heaters heat water on demand, reducing standby energy loss. Heat pump water heaters use electricity to move heat from the air or ground to heat water, making them more efficient than traditional electric water heaters.

What are the main differences between an electric and propane tankless water heater, and which one is more efficient for heating water in a household?

The main differences between an electric and propane tankless water heater are the energy source they use to heat water. Electric tankless water heaters use electricity, while propane tankless water heaters use propane gas. In terms of efficiency, electric tankless water heaters are generally more efficient for heating water in a household because they have a higher energy factor and lower operating costs compared to propane tankless water heaters.

Do tankless water heaters cost more than normal water heaters?

Yes, the tankless water heaters do cost more than the normal water heaters because tankless water heaters are designed to supply hot water only when needed unlike normal ones.

Are tankless water heaters available?

Tankless water heaters are available at most hardware/construction retail stores or online stores. Tankless water heater are much more expensive than regular water heaters.

What are the main differences between a tankless water heater and a regular water heater, and which one is more efficient in terms of energy consumption and space utilization?

A tankless water heater heats water on demand, while a regular water heater stores and heats water in a tank. Tankless heaters are more energy-efficient and space-saving compared to regular heaters, as they only heat water when needed and do not require a storage tank.

Where can I purchase efficient water heaters?

Family Facets offers a variety of water heaters, including wireless water heaters, instant electric water heaters, instant electric water heaters with remotes, mini tankless electric water heaters, and more.

Are tankless water heaters more effecient than the more traditional ones?

Yes, tankless water heaters are more efficient than traditional ones. This is because they only heat the exact amount of hot water you use, rather than continually heating hot water in a tank and having to keep it warm.

What are the differences between a tankless water heater and an electric water heater, and which one is more efficient for providing hot water in a household?

A tankless water heater heats water on demand, while an electric water heater stores and heats water in a tank. Tankless heaters are generally more efficient as they only heat water when needed, but electric heaters may be more cost-effective upfront. Ultimately, the choice depends on household hot water usage and energy efficiency priorities.

What are the differences between a tankless water heater and an electric water heater?

A tankless water heater heats water on demand, while an electric water heater stores and heats water in a tank. Tankless heaters are more energy-efficient and provide unlimited hot water, but may have higher upfront costs. Electric water heaters are cheaper upfront but have limited hot water capacity and may be less energy-efficient.
