Are there wild ferrets in Alberta?

Domesticated, or pet ferrets, are not found wild in the United States. A native species of ferret, the Black-Footed Ferret, does exist in the wild, although it is endangered. Black footed ferrets are found on protected areas in Colorado.

At one time Black footed ferrets inhabited Canada until they became instinct in the wild. There were plans to reintroduce back into Canada, but I don't think that has been implemented or it is not feasible.
