Does TV harm young people

tv affects children because the watch to much of it causing their brain to only think about what is on the screen instead of what is going on in the world. children who watch to much tv have a chance of getting alzheimers and won`t be able to remember anything like their name their parents name and u just get to addicted to it that u can`t stop

It depends. There have been educational programs such as National Geographic specials, Jacques Cousteau documentaries, and so on, as well as accurate ( within Tv limits) historical documentaries such as Cronkite"s 20Th Century. The earlier form of Goodson-Todman quiz shows- now extinct had some value. But, and this is important, this cannot remotely offset the firestorms of violence- often as a comedy tool, how-tos on delinquent and criminal acts even in some Cartoons ( this writer will admit he learned how to cut classes from Fred Flintstone) Even the historical and scientific shows have a tendency to skimp facts, use background music, Ta-dah and so on. I knew several teachers when I was in High school who were at or near totally anti-TV, and one who would not have a television set in his household. Somewhat oddly, he taught history and monitored the Current Events club- which was largely keyed to the tune of the New York Times.

i personally like t.v. but it has its effects on people..like you get addicted..become a "couch patato"... you feel lazy like you need to watch it all day. also, it can depend on what show you are watching(:

Its good and bad because most tv shows have an educational purpose but then some tv shows either have no point or give children silly ideas
