We have one and he's a very good dog, he's a little over a year old now. He is VERY intelligent and was easy to train, with the exception that it did take longer to housebreak him then it took to housebreak our Golden Retriever. But tiny dogs have tiny bladders after all, so we had to wait until he was big enough to be fully housebroken.
He's extremely friendly, love kids, and gets along fine with other dogs and even cats!! He WILL chase bunnies and squirrels though, but these dogs WERE bred to hunt small wild animals. We were told that Westies are NOT lap dogs and not very cuddly ... but our little guy apparently never read those parts of his breed description because he IS a lap dog and loves to be picked up and cuddled!!
NO WAY I HAVE HAD 3 AND MY FAMILY HAS THEM NONE ARE AGGRESSIVE
I agree they are not but my westie sticks up for me and only growls wen I'm holding the lead so they are very loyal and a great pet u will have lots of fun with them!!!
Westies are great pets. They are active, funny, loving, and caring.
If you have small children, five years or younger, then you might want to go with a calmer, more relaxed dog. If you think you're child(ren) are ready for a Westie in their house, go for it.
No, they're not illegal, they are simply not Westies.
Westies do not molt as much as most dogs but they do have a certain month.

Westies were bred for hunting and digging. Westies would chase rodents through anything. My westie insists that she should swim in her water bowl every day. Westies absolutely LOVE water!
westies are important to survival because they can be pets and loving animals!
yes it is

Westies are a breed of dog, and dogs are carnivores. So a Westie is a carnivore.

As far as this longtime owner is concerned, there are no black Westies. Scottish Terriers are black and are often mistaken for Westies. Seeing them side by side will clarify any misconceptions.
