We have one and he's a very good dog, he's a little over a year
old now. He is VERY intelligent and was easy to train, with the
exception that it did take longer to housebreak him then it took to
housebreak our Golden Retriever. But tiny dogs have tiny bladders
after all, so we had to wait until he was big enough to be fully
He's extremely friendly, love kids, and gets along fine with other dogs and even cats!! He WILL chase bunnies and squirrels though, but these dogs WERE bred to hunt small wild animals. We were told that Westies are NOT lap dogs and not very cuddly ... but our little guy apparently never read those parts of his breed description because he IS a lap dog and loves to be picked up and cuddled!!
