They evidentally have some firearms training in BT or Basic- Waves used to be qualified on .45 automatics, purely for defensive purposes. outside of Spies, Female types normally do not carry weapons or participate in Firefights- assaults, or other types of Battles. Some, again relating to duty assignment- such as Nurses , do not have any firearms background AT ALL as they are legally non-combatants under the Red Cross, etc. The same applies to Chaplains in the armed services- they are the only Officers who have no firearms training or issue of guns.. in the armed forces, but unarmed. The only exception ( Medical Corps) might be a Doctor who is assigned to a POW camp or a prison, mental ward ( or a combinaiton of both like a Criminally Insane hospital, the type the ACLU calls ( Prison Mental hospitals) nice place to stary out of, and can you imagine the war neuroses involved!

∙ 10y agoYes. In January, 2013, the military lifted the ban for women in combat roles, but many women served in combat before the ban was formally lifted. According to the Associated Press, women will be able to start training as Army Rangers in mid-2015 and women will be able to start training as Navy SEALs in mid-2016.

Yes, they are. And they do. They can and do train in every military branch, serve on the front lines, and also become drill sergeants.
To my knowledge, female soldiers are allowed to do everything their male counterparts are allowed to do.
