Unfortunately, clownfish (eggs) are precocial and that gets them a quick death by being eaten by other fish soon after birth. The only thing that will keep them safe

is the anemone that protects their parents and the symbiotic relationship they could have if they stay in its safety.

Are young birds such as geese ducks and shore birds born with there eyes open?

Birds fall into two categories; precocial and altricial. Most ground nesters are precocial; quail, killdeer, ducks, geese and chickens to name a few. Meaning that the babies are born with downy feathers, eyes open and within hours are seen to be scurrying around and eating. Then we have the birds who nest in trees; these babies are altricial. They are born naked, eyes closed, and completely helpless and dependent upon the parent birds

What is the difference between an altricial and precocial animal?

An altricial animal is an animal that requires a long period of development, and a heavy investment of parental energy, to achieve mature status. Human beings, for example, are altricial animals. Humans are helpless at birth, and must undergo a long period of "adolescence" before they can function as mature adults. Skills necessary for survival, such as language, are not instinctive, but must be mastered over an extended period. Other animals, such as deer, birds, bears, rabbits, etc., are relatively precocial. They emerge from the womb more or less ready to function in the world, with little or no parental investment necessary. Learning and nurturing plays a greater role in the development of altricial animals, while instinct plays a greater role in the development of precocial animals.
