Oxygen is in liquid form depending on two things:

1- Pressure

2- Temperature

Oxygen is kept in cryogenic tanks of all sizes . Ambient temperature outside of the storage tank is much higher than the liquid temperature. Due to the heat leak there is a natural tendancy for the liquid to warm up thus producing gaseous oxygen that contributes to a rise in pressure inside the tank. So, roughly, oxygen is in liquid phase from -297.4°F @ 1 atm. to -181°F and 731psi.

At what temprature does oxygen become a liquid?

As the temperature goes up, the oxygen molecules move around faster, but they do not turn into liquid. For that to happen, it needs to react with another element like Hydrogen for example.

At what temp does oxygen become a liquid?

Oxygen is liquid at a temperature between -218,79 0C and -182,95 0C.

How can oxygen become a liquid?

Oxygen can become a liquid at temperatures below -183 degrees Celsius. At this point, oxygen molecules slow down enough to form a liquid state.

Oxygen is liquid of room temperature?

Actually, what you breathe in is a mixture of nitrogen (~79%) and oxygen (~21%). It means that both of them (therefore oxygen, too) are in gaseous stat (not liquid).

What is oxygen as -247 degrees?

At this temperature sulfur is liquid.

What temperature does argon become a liquid?

Argon becomes a liquid at a temperature of -185.8 degrees Celsius.

How do you turn solid oxygen into liquid oxygen?

To turn solid oxygen into liquid oxygen, you need to apply pressure and lower the temperature. Solid oxygen (O2) transitions directly to liquid oxygen at a temperature of -183 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 1 atmosphere. This process is known as liquefaction.

What is melting points and the boiling points?

Melting point: the temperature at which a solid become a liquid. Boiling point: the temperature at which a liquid become a gas.

Is oxygen a liquid solid or gas in room temperature?

gas

What must be done to make oxygen a liquid?

To make oxygen a liquid, it must be cooled to a temperature below its critical temperature of -118.57 degrees Celsius and be subjected to high pressure. This will cause the oxygen molecules to come close together and transition from a gas to a liquid state.

What is the critical temperature of oxygen?

the critical temperature of oxygen is -118.6 C/ -155 F

What is the condensation point of oxygen?

The condensation point of oxygen is -182.96°C. At this temperature, oxygen gas transforms into liquid oxygen.
