You have some serious problems. Hooking up a battery backwards plays hell with the electronics. If you really want to keep the car you will probably have to replace a lot if not all the electronic control devices that manage your engine.
Depending on what you mean there are two answers. A car being jumped with cables on backward will short out the car either blowing the electrical system and or causing sparks. If you are installing a battery in your car and you put the cables on backwards then you will either drain the battery or short out the car.
That is correct, u may also have damaged some electronic devices. A car battery has a + and - , its DC so it matters how to connect it.
There is no ignition module on a 1987 5th ave. The spark control computer is on the air cleaner with a vacuum line hooked to it.
follow the wire from the positive side of the battery it will lead you to it
it doesnt start when its foggy out because all the wetness in the air
Start with a good tune up. Could be a bum spark plug or spark plug wire.
sounds like... starter.
Hooked on Phonics was created in 1987.
Some do, some don't If you have a remote controlled motor it probably does, but it must be hooked to a battery to work
Hooked on Love - Dead or Alive song - was created in 1987.
Start with checking the battery terminals for corrosion, then the wires going to the starter. Be sure everything is clean and tight. Also have the battery checked
dead battery, or a bad ignition control module inside the distribureator.
Have the ECM, alternator and any other electronic components tested. Reverse polarity can destroy solid state components instantly and you may have some serious electronic damage.

Try cleaning the battery cable connections of corrosion.
CHECK BATTERY FIRST,THEN FUSES, THEM CHECK STARTER, JUMP START YOUR SOLENOID, see if it starts, if not check your distrbuter for Voltage, that's the easy stuff first...
weak battery or poor connections would be my guess, try cleaning the battery caable ends and the battery posts
the battery is in the trunk on the left side
Connect the positive cable to the positive battery post on the donor car and on the Corvette. Connect the negative cable to some metal part of each vehicle, such as the engine. Be careful of the fan blades on each car. Let the donor car run for approximately 15 minutes to put a slight charge in the battery on the Corvette before you attempt to start it. Start the Corvette and as soon as it starts disconnect the battery cables.
