BIG Bang is a hypothesis and on the basis of cern research big bang theory was proposed.
Big bang experiment is conducted as follows: Built in a circular tunnel 100 metres (325 feet) below ground and 17 miles long in a complex straddling the French-Swiss border, the LHC is designed to accelerate sub-atomic particles to nearly the speed of light and then smash them together replicating conditions which prevailed in split-seconds after the "Big Bang" that created the Universe 13.7 billion years ago. Well as answered before by someone.. its just a rumor that we might die. Scientists are taking good measures to avoid danger. The Big Bang experiment will be the biggest experiment ever conducted in history till date. However, the big bang experiment will create a 'big bang' in the world media!! ____________ Generally, the collider is the latest masterpiece in the world of particle physics. There is no telling what might be discovered; some hope that the theorized Higgs Boson or any other of several hypothetical particles may show itself. For just long enough for us to observe, some of the very basic components that may have prevailed in the first moments of the expansion may appear.
No, the machine had to be turned off for repairs. However, even when the Higgs Boson is discovered, we will need to continue running experiments, and to build bigger and more fabulous machines. Too bad we canceled the Texas Super Conducting Super Collider. Maybe some day we'll build one even bigger and more powerful yet. It would have been a 20 Terraelectron volt (TeV) machine, whereas CERN's Large Hadron Collider is only 7 TeV.
Personally, I'd like to see a PeV machine--one petaelectron volts. But you have to crawl before you can pilot an F15 Strike Eagle.
The same kind of experiments that were done to test whetherour Earth goes around our Sun. In both cases, scientists did three steps:
1) What would we observe if one hypothesis is correct?
2) Would weobserve something different if an alternate hypothesis is correct?
3) What do we ACTUALLY observe?
If our Earth is just one planet going around our Sun, then we willsee phases of Venus, similar to those wesee for our Moon. If Venus and our Sun go around our Earth, then we won't. When phases were seen for Venus, scientists concluded our Sun is the center of our solar system.
If Big Bang Cosmology is correct, and if our Universe has only been in existence for about 13 billion years, then we would observe
1) the Hubble Constant to be about 70 Km/sec per parsec.*
2) a ratio of hydrogen to helium of about 90% to 10% in all parts of our Universe.
3) an isotropic microwave background with a spectrum exactly like that of a black body of temperature about 3 K.
4) the ratio of radioactive isotopes to their decay products indicating none of the former being older than about 10 billion years.
5) no quasars near to us.
6) no white dwarf stars older than about 10 billion years.
If our Universe has been existence for significantly longer than 10 billion years, and without ever having been in a hot dense state, then (1) and (2)are difficult to explain, and 3-6 are impossible to explain. The undeniable fact is that 1-6 are all true. Thus, to the same extent that a helio-centric solar system is true, then Big Bang Cosmology is true.
* Just to be complete, we actually calculate the age of our Universe from the Hubble Constant. So we didn't start with the question, "What Hubble Constant would we observe if our Universe is 13 billion years old?"; we instead asked, "What is the Hubble Constant?" and then inferred the age of our Universe.
According to the believes of physics and the big bang, we know that the big bang was both big and a bang. Since we are still receiving radiation from the big bang, So considering that factor I would say that it was big and a bang. What do you believe?
Big Bang theorist believe
Everything that ever happened - or at least, everything we know of - happened after the Big Bang, and was, in a way, affected by the Big Bang.
why did Stephen discover the big bang theory
Unclear as there is no way to know what happened before the big bang, or even if there was a "before the big bang".
