You might have bitten your tongue, have gum disease, a mouth ulcer, a nose bleed... or possibly lung cancer or tuberculosis.
it could be a small cut just above the nose cavity causing it to combine with the snot resulting in the mixture of the blood and snot this is normally due to sneezing .
That is just gerbil snot. Theirs is red for some reason. What you're seeing is simply that your gerbil has a runny nose!
