it could be your brake light switch,or the fuse could be blown ,or the bulbs could be blown.or it could also be the turn signal switch.
its a 2001 ford focus 1.6 petrol
for the tail lights all the other lights are working blanking lights brake lights and reverse lights but no tail lights on both side
If the speedometer and brake lights aren't working then you should change the fuse. If that doesn't work then check the electrical system associated with your Heritage.
i replaced a brake light bulb in my 2001 golf now none ofthe brake lights are working ! i can not tell which fuse is the one for the brake lights ! please help ?
There is a switch under brake pedal. This switch controls the brake lights. They some times go bad. Have someone stand behind vehicle while you push on brake pedal, if no brake lights come on. Try pushing the brake switch by hand. Check for power with a voltmeter.
Check your brake lights,if they are not working it could be your brake light switch or a fuse.If you have no current to your brake lights you will have no current to your shifter release solenoid. If that's not it,could be release solenoid itself.
If the brake lights stay on that probably means the switch on the brake pedal that activates them is defective.
The brake light switch has failed
faulty brake switch
No braking lights is usually caused by the failure of the switch behind the brake pedal. It's a fairly easy job to replace, but check it isn't a simple fuse failure first
The most common cause for brake lights to be out on a 2001 Mustang GT is a blown bulb. There are some instances where there is faulty wiring.
check fuses, check brake light switch behind brake pedal.
