The majority of them are worth 6 cents to a dollar or so. Dateless buffaloes are worth a lot less than buffaloes in good condition.

It's either "Indian head" or "buffalo", but not "buffalo head". Buffalo nickels show the whole animal! All buffalo nickels are made of the same 25% nickel / 75% copper alloy used in modern nickels. Internet rumors notwithstanding, NO buffalo nickels ever contained any silver.

All US nickels minted since early 1938 have carried a portrait of President Thomas Jefferson. Nickels minted from 1913 to early 1938 are called either buffalo nickels or Indian head nickels - they show the entire buffalo, not just its head.
