California has many mountain ranges, but the major mountain range is the Sierra Nevada range. Other mountain ranges include the California coastal range, San Bernardino mountains in Los Angeles, and the Cascade mountains of Northern California.
California is a large and mostly mountainous state within the United States. To go from the Northern end of the state to the Southern end of the state detailing the various ranges contained within the borders and the ones that start in California and extend to other states would be quite the lengthy list.
