Eventually the state will auction it off to recoup their costs. If you have a lien on it currently, the lien holder may take it out of impound and auction it - the state recovering their costs takes priority over the lien holder, and the lien holder will lose all claim to the vehicle if the state auctions it off. Either way, the payments for the vehicle will remain your responsibility.
NO! you cant its impound for a reason good luck
If the impound releases it to you then it is okay, otherwise it is theft.
My car is in the impound, i still owe 7,000.00 the impound put a lean. Will the finance Co. take me to collection?
Impound will sell your car after the impound fees are higher than the value of the vehicle.
Charged with a crime
It will depend on local towing, impound and storage fees. You should contact the agency that did the impound for information.
Call your lender.
it depends on the car
In a word, YES. If you cannot afford to get it out of impound, they will contact the leinholder and tell them where the car is, why it was impounded, (DWI, No Insurance, Motor Vehicle violation, ect) Please note this is NOT ILLEGAL, the law enforcement agency and towing companies/impound lots are well within their rights under the law to make these contacts and furnish this information. It is NOT a private matter, you will have no recourse, the car will be turned over to the leinholder (IE: Bank, Credit Union, Leasing Co) if they pay the towing bill and storage fees.
you could steel a car. :)
Pay the car payment. So you can take your butt to work and pay the credit cards!
Yes, they can and often they do to cover the unpaid balance of impound fees.
