Not especially as with twin beds the sides that are pressed together will simply press into the mattress and cause an uneven night's sleep. Best to just get a cheap king size bed frame - better yet to get a good frame to support the box springs and mattress.

I know that they fit rather nicely on a mid 70s 1/2 ton frame (short wheel base of course) . I have a 1956 F-100 sitting on a 1975 frame, the front body mounts even line up fairly well. The only drawback is that most of these conversions include major clearancing of the firewall to fit a v8 (mine has a 460 c.i. Ford) . The frame is much stiffer but is also much heavier than the original. I have also seen a 56 on a late 70s bronco frame, it looked great and fit nice.
