African Greys can have a variety of fruit. I noticed that mine particularly likes things with skin on it, because they eat it like a peanut. The best thing to tell you is what Not to give your Grey because it's dangerous to their health. Avocados, the center near the pit carries a certain substance that can kill them.As with all birds, do not feed your African Grey parrot avocados, chocolate, coffee or salt. Chocolate and coffee contain theobromine, an alkaloid that is toxic to birds. Foods with a high salt content are harmful to birds because they can not excrete salt.

If you decide to feed your own blend, be sure to make it a well-rounded, balanced diet. A majority of your African Grey's diet should consist of fresh whole grains, such as whole grain breads, cooked brown rice, and Monkey Biscuits, a commercially available product. Protein is vital to your bird's diet, and can be given in the form of small amounts of cooked eggs, chicken, beef, fish or legumes, as your bird likes. Veggies, such as broccoli, squashes, beans and peas should be the next largest portion of the diet, followed by a small amount of fruits. Too much sugar is harmful to the bird, so be sure that only small portions of fruit are offered daily.

It should be in it's own juice not in a sugar syrup. Canned would not be that much different than fresh, less nutrition, more empty calories.

Yes mine eats them .you don't want to give them too much. And never give them avocado or broccoli or chocolate .that will kill your bird.
