Suboxone will not adequately treat Xanax withdrawal, since the two drugs act very differently in your body. Suboxone is a partial opioid agonist while Xanax deals with GABA. Suboxone does not deal with GABA and Xanax does not deal with opioid receptors.

Is Anyone currently on suboxone and Xanax?
Yes. Suboxone is primarily used to help with the treatement of opiate addiction. It is a wonderful drug to detox from opiate addiction and avoid withdrawal when used properly and under a physicians care. Xanax is used as part of the treatment to assit with anxiety and sleep.
You take suboxone but you need something anxiety?
Yes this is a common side effect of suboxone. I struggled with taking xanax with suboxone for awhile which is very dangerous to do, but I cut my dose of suboxone back to only 8mg a day, and that really seemed to help. I still get anxiety daily, and ALWAYS want xanax but have been able to not take any. I am taking an anti-depresiant type drug called Sevalla now and it helps alot with the anxiety. My suboxone Dr. recommended it to me because of my anxiety. Maybe ask your doc about paxil or some type of non-narcotic anti-anxiety or anti-depresant. I hate to say but if you did real dope for a long period of time and are now on suboxone, that anxiety feeling is there to stay, there's nothing you can really do to make it go away completely except taking benzos, and believe me you do not want to go down that road, cause it only leads you back to the addictive personality that lead you to suboxone in the first place. Not without discussing it with your doctor. Fiorinal (aspirin/butalbital/caffeine) may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants. That would include Suboxone, which is a synthetic opiate, albeit with a narcotic antagonist included. You should not take Fiorinal with codeine, either (it is available with and without). The whole purpose of taking Suboxone is to detox from opiates, and codeine is an opiate. Addictionally, the narcotic antagonist in the Suboxone would probably counteract any pain relief provided by the codeine.
