With a few exceptions everywhere hires at sixteen. Try baby sitting, walking dogs, and etc...
Actually, a work permit can be issued to any youth ages 14 or older from their school or in Georgia, from a County School Superintendent. The jurisdiction depends on the age (Federal = 14 & 15), the type of work being done (Federal = hazardous occupations ages 17 & under; Federal = prohibited occupations ages 15 & under). The rest of the regulations fall under state jurisdiction. You can visit the Federal DOL website or your state's DOL site for more information. There are also restrictions to how much work can be done daily and/or weekly when school is in and when school is out, again based on age (Federal). Also, if the business is family owned, the rules are exempt except for hazardous/prohibited occupations.HOWEVER, as an HR professional, the above answer is figuratively correct in that most employers won't hire employees under a certain age.Um... Well from the looks of all The Georgia Labor laws surely Yes you do until you are at the respectable age of 17... Sorry
Yes you do. Until you reach the age of 18 years old you need a work permit.
