yes its the same but i wouldn't recomend using the stock trans unless rebuilt

Answerwith a little modification it will but no it won't bolt up to the 96 engine and besides the 96 had a stronger transmission then the 86.

yes they are the same engine. the only difference is the throttle bodies.
i would imagine it could, but not without alot of work, the Buick engine is fwd while the camaro is rwd, you would need a whole different transmission at the least.
