Given the right load and shot placement, yes.
you can hunt with a 410 in any state
probably not
In most states, yes (check YOUR state game laws through the game commission website) HOWEVER- I would not recommend it. The load of shot, or the energy of a .410 slug, is simply too small to reliably and cleanly kill a deer. It is more likely to wound a deer that will die in a day or two.
DONT DO IT!!! you will only hurt it. Only shoot it with a rifle. What if you live in Ohio and can't use a rifle Jack Wagon? If the right ammo is used and the right placement is done it will kill a deer Are you crazy? You would have to be extremely close to the dear to kill it with a 410 (10 meters at most) and a deer would hear you if you got close enough to kill it so its unethical. either shoot it with a rifle or in certain circumstances you could possibly kill it with a 12 or 20 gauge.
This depends on what deer you are hunting. If you are hunting for your first deer then yes, it can kill any small or medium sized deer such as a 4 point on down within less than 50 yards, maybe less than that. You do not have alot of range, but it can kill a smaller sized deer. If you want to kill a trophy buck, you are going to need a 12 gauge.
it is shotgun because the size of rifle is different than shotgun.
Its suppose to come with the gun. And are you gonna kill someone?
You can use nothing but 410 shells in a 410 shotgun.
The 410 Shotgun is really .410 Caliber. Unlike all other sizes of shotgun, (10,12,16,20,28gauge), the 410 is measured in caliber. I believe it works out to something like 36 gauge. So the 410 shotgun is .41 Caliber
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Will_a_410_guage_rifled_slug_kill_a_whitetail_deer_and_if_so_what_is_the_maximum_range"Yes a 410 gauge with slug will kill a whitetail deer. In fact if you are under 50 yards or less, this gun is very effective. One problem seen by Division of Wildlife officials is that many hunters, out of the gun season will shoot a deer with this type shotgun, then stick a arrow into the carcass to try to fool everyone. But a trained eye can usually detect this.Yes, a 410 gauge rifled slug will easily kill a deer. Make sure your marksmanship is great and stay away from the shoulders, or other bones. They loose their energy quick so get to practicing and have fun.
It is a shotgun
About 1" past the muzzle.
