∙ 15y agoFirst I would make sure the cables from your tv and Blu-ray will match if so you are good to go. But blu-ray may be over kill it was designed for high resolution tv you may not get full benefit. cheaptvtoday.com

∙ 11y agoTo watch a Bluray disc in high definition, an HD television is needed. However, almost all Bluray players have an analog, standard definition output that can be connected to televisions that are not HD and do not have HDMI inputs.

∙ 14y agoMost Bluray players have a standard definition output as well as HDMI (The HD output). In most cases, a Bluray player will convert high definition material to standard definition for output through the analog standard definition ports.
This allows Bluray players to be used with most televisions but be aware that the quality of image will be standard definition if the analog output is used. HD signals are only available on the HDMI port.
