I recommend you use SAE 10W30 100% synthetic in any air cooled small engine. Any major brand is fine.
I recommend you go to your local Walmart Lawn and Garden Dept or automotive parts store or lawn mower shop. They have manuals that will specify the filters applicable to your engine.

For a Briggs & Stratton 22 HP engine used in lawn tractors, the valve clearance is typically set at 0.005 inches (0.127 mm) for both the intake and exhaust valves when the engine is cold. It's important to refer to the specific engine model's manual for exact specifications, as they can vary slightly. Regularly checking and adjusting the valve clearance can help maintain optimal engine performance.
The spark plug gap for a Briggs & Stratton 22 HP engine is typically set between 0.030 to 0.040 inches (0.76 to 1.02 mm). It's important to check the owner's manual for the specific model to ensure you have the correct gap setting, as it may vary slightly by engine model. Always use a feeler gauge to accurately measure and adjust the gap as needed for optimal engine performance.

The easiest way without a puller is to loosen the nut, take a large ball pein hammer and place it ball end down on the tip of the carnk (should be a drilled place there) and take a heavy (2 lb. or better) and strike the flat face on the upper side of the ball pein with it. One to three blows will loosen it. Do NOT strike the flywheel, it will break the magnets toose. A prybar under the edge only is allowed.
