These 3 components are commonly found in the brand-name prescription drug Mometamax, used by veterinarians for treatment of otitis externa in dogs only. Side effects in dogs include allergic reactions, hearing loss and temporary deafness. And based on other veterinary medications used by humans (some fatally), the effects may be severe in sensitive people. There are similar ear care medications for humans with time-tested positive results. Consult a physician for proper guidance in the use of all medications having potential impact on hearing.
