Probably not. Coyotes are roughly the size of German shepherds, only not as heavy. An adult deer is a formidable opponent. It is unlikely that a coyote would try it, unless the deer was immature or very sick. Coyotes live on rabbits and smaller game, such as birds, for the most part, unless they are hunting in a pack. A pack can take and kill deer, and have been known to take elk -- typically by running them to exhaustion in deep snow.
When hunting small prey like mice, the coyote will stand still with its legs stiff and then pounce on its prey. When hunting larger prey like deer, coyotes hunt in packs. One or more coyote will chase the deer while the others wait, then the next group will pick up the chase. Working in teams like this, the coyote can tire the deer out, making it easier to kill. Coyotes also often follow badgers and catch prey that pop out of burrows the badger is digging.
One coyote is not enough to kill a deer, especially a buck elk on the rut, but two or three could kill a deer. A coyote can only kill a young deer or an unguarded fawn. However, one wolf is enough to kill such a deer because wolves are more skilled in fighting and have bigger size advantage.
Yes they do.
Yes , a pack of coyotes can capture and eat a deer .
If the deer is a fawn then yes. But a full grown dear, not likely unless it was injured.
Only in extreme conditions, but they could kill a coyote, as they have even been known to kill wolves.
Yes indeed. Depending on the area and the size of the coyotes themselves, some coyotes will actively hunt and kill deer similar to wolves, if they won't go after livestock.

Yes, there are several pre-charged, and break action pellet rifles that can more then kill a deer. They even use them to kill Wolf and Coyotes. However, you'd need a rifle with 16+ foot pounds to reliably kill large animals.
Mountain lions, wolfs, Black bear, Grizzly, Kodiak brown bear, coyotes, and some times a large hawk or eagle will kill a young deer
Yes, sadly It is the survival of the fittest... Coyotes eat any meat they can get, such as small deer, raccoon, rat, mice, mainly rabbits & small prey.
Yes, there are coyotes in Northern Wisconsin. Coyotes are adaptable animals, but they do prefer woodland areas. Northern Wisconsin is quite wooded. Deer populations are high. Coyotes eat carrion (dead) deer as well as hunted deer, and the Northwoods in Wisconsin has large deer herds. Hence, Northern Wisconsin is quite a fine habitat for Coyotes. Coyotes raid the goose nests, taking as many as 20 eggs from a group of nest in a single evening. They then dig caches, or hiding spots, nearby to store the eggs. Coyotes return later to eat the eggs, sometimes as many as three weeks after they were cached. As deer populations grow in the Chicago region, coyotes have been taking advantage of deer fawns as a food source. Coyotes almost always hunt alone or in pairs, and cannot kill a healthy adult deer. Although coyotes will feed upon the remains of deer, adult deer are usually not killed by coyotes unless injured. Coyotes, like other wildlife, also take advantage of food that people leave out, such as messy garbage cans, bird seed and even cat and dog food left out for pets. Coyotes will also eat feral and free‐roaming cats. The only way to keep your cat safe from coyotes is to keep it indoors.
Coyotes are canines. They are related to wolves, foxes, and dogs. Coyotes are native to North America, and are found in nearly every one of the continental United States. They hunt and eat small animals like mice and prairie dogs, but they can also kill larger animals like deer.
