Technically, sometimes. A doctor may be permitted to prescribe >2 months of dose in some situations, and can issue a repeat prescription if necessary (this means the person goes in every month with the same script, rather than getting a large amount of medicine at once or a new script every time).

Yes, as long as it is not a controlled medicaiton; most prescriptions are valid for one year. If you were prescribed a controlled drug (i.e. many pain medications such as Vicodin are controlled), you cannot fill it after 6 months.

In Texas if you are given an 8yr sentence for possession of a controlled substance how much time will have to be served before being eligible for parole?

It would all depend on your entire criminal history. You are reviewed every 6 months after sentencing. If you don't have a lenghty record you should be eligible your 1st time up. And as long as you are doing everything that is asked of you in TDC and stay out of trouble you won't be in there that long. I received two 8 yr. sentences. 1 for possession and 1 for manual delivery of a controlled substance(to an undercover). I did 10 months in the county jail and then pulled chain to TDC and did 13 months there. I made parole only after being in TDC for 7 months but I had to wait 6 months to complete so classes before I was released.

How long are written adderall rx valid?

This will vary from state to state, as each state's board of pharmacy may enact it's own rules. It may also depend on your insurance. Generally, prescriptions are good for one year. Controlled substances must be filled within 30 days. Note that your insurance plan may layer additional restrictions on top of those imposed by your state. For example, in New York state, medicaid requires a new prescription for a non-controlled substance to be filled within 60 days from the time it is written, or medicaid payment will be denied.

Can you mail a rx for a schedule two drug?

Not in the U.S. All prescriptions for Schedule II drugs must be hand-delivered to the pharmacy by the person the prescription is for. The prescriptions also must be printed or written on a special paper that has numerous security features. Also, prescriptions for Schedule II drugs must be filled within six months or they become invalid.

When does a written prescription for Depakote expire?

Most prescriptions are never good after a year, and many of them are good for only a few days to a few weeks. So if the Percocet is more than a year old, you need to throw them out. As for the prescription itself, by law prescriptions for Percocet cannot be refilled.
