Is there any way heroin could pass for Suboxone in a urine test?

No. The chemical of Suboxone will show up. Which is Buprenorphine Hydrochloride. A standard "drug" test from employers will not pick up the Suboxone.

It is a special test which is very expensive which my insurance company didn't cover when my doctor sent me for a drug screen. It was over $200 whereas the normal "opiate" screen was like $25...

So no worries if you're going for an employer "drug screen" you will be ok. Unless of course you are doing Other substances !!

I am on probation for "Use of a controlled substance" and I am court ordered to take 2 random urine screens a month. I am currently on Suboxone and I know for a fact that it does not appear on the 12 panel drug test I take. That just means they test for 12 different types of drug classes. I don't know if this helps, but obvuiously heroin would show up and I actually figured suboxone would too since it is opiate based. My Probation Officer showed me my test results and it was all negative.

Suboxone is not an opiate, rather an opiate antagonist. It shows up in a urine analysis as Buprenorphine, in its own category, but only if the testing agency specifically screens for that drug. Most agencies do not test for it, unless there is some specific reason to test for it, such as your Suboxone doctor testing you to see if you have been taking your meds.

I know this is the popular thought but I failed a probation 4 panel drug test 2 times now because of suboxone coming up as opiates. (these are the only 2 tests he gave me) His test it comes up as morphine. More and more people are reporting this happening to them. Also before the mud slinging starts I havent done drugs a year prior to the first test and stayed clean so it was deff the suboxone

The drug in Suboxone (Beunornophine) is not commonly one that is tested in random drug screen urinalyses. There may come a time when this becomes routine, but presently that is not the case. Actually, there are small amounts of Naloxone or Narcan in Suboxone. This is done for people to be discouraged from trying to change the pill into an injectible form. This small amount of "opiate-clearing" drug in every pill taken three times a day can, and will, hasten the removal of any opiate from a person's body.

That said, random urine drug screens do test for and will identify heroin or other opiates.

Regular drug tests ussually trace only full agonist metabolites or morphine like metablites, for example morphine, heroin, codeine break down in morphine so the metablites give a positive result. In the case of suboxone or subutex, buprenorphine breaks down in norbuprenorphine in the liver so in a drug test it can not be detected except the drug dest is testing specifically for buprenorphine metabolites which is uncommon.

Yes the drug test can tell the difference, but it's more complicated than that. Suboxone (Buprenorphine) will not show up on most consumer drug tests, whereas Hydrocodone will. Buprenorphine will show up and is tested for in most pain clinics and on "12" or "13 panel" drug tests.

GC/MS can, but a dip stick test can't.

yes most defiantly I'm on a a pain clinic and ran out off my percocets 4 days prior to my appointment so i took a methadone sure enough a urine test could tell the difference. PS this was a 12 panel test

Lortab and heroin are both opioids. This means that a drug test cannot tell the difference between either the two drugs.
