It's unknown exactly what causes ADHD and typically, without knowing the exact cause of a disease pathology, it is not possible to cure it. However it can be treated/controlled.

what changes have there been in how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is treated? what changes have there been in how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is treated? what changes have there been in how Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is treated?
I have ADHD and I believe it's a very serious condition. I get angry and frustrated all the time, I hurt people and animals when I go into a tantrum(but then I immediatly regret it), I break things, and cause all sorts of problems. It's best to get it treated.
I used to see a counselor who had ADHD herself and treated mostly individuals with that problem, including myself, and she warned me to watch for ADHD in my daughter, saying that in was common for it to show up in the teen years. So, based on her opinion I would say yes it can show up after 10 years of age. I would guess that my counselor was pretty knowledgeable about ADHD, but I would still get a second opinion.
I would suggest that ADD can be treated and you can get rid of the symptoms of it. Some people use medication to treat the symptoms whilst others attempt to alleviate them using alternative methods such as diet, concentration exercises, biofeedback and so on. In my experience with ADD and ADHD (My son and I have ADHD whilst my girlfriend has ADD) medication proved to work, but it changed all our characters.
