If the dog is about two pounds or less, and the hawk is hungry, the hawk will take the dog. If the dog is slightly bigger(up to 5lbs), the hawk will kill it, dine on it, then leave it. Either way, dog dies.

Hawks are one of the birds that go after a lot of things because they are carnivorous birds. They most likely don't go after dogs unless they are small enough. They might be brave enough to go after a medium sized dog but there is no way the bird could carry it back to its nest to eat it.
