I have a Siberian Husky and I live in Georgia. He does alright down here, just make sure he/She has a place to cool down. I have a doggie door so he can come into the A/C whenever he gets too hot.
Preferably not.
Since Siberian Huskies was bred to have a thick coat which acts as an insulator in cold weather, they can't tolerate heat well. Under extreme weather they may even suffer from heatstroke, so it is not a good idea to get a Siberian Husky if the place where you live has a hot climate.
Huskies are able to survive in hotter climates but they won't be very happy and would always be at risk of overheating. Being high energy working dogs, they will attempt to sleep during the hottest parts of the day and will be extremely energetic and challenging if and when it cools down.
It's to keep them warm. they cool themselves by panting.
No, I am a breeder of husky mixed with wolfs it is bad for them the best place for them to live is somewhere cold because if how much they are husky which are cold weather dogs
Yes, they can but get very uncomfortable and need lots of water.
of course
They CAN survive in hot weather, but need to be provided with shade and water since they were bred for cold climates.
To live in a hot place they have to be groomed every few weeks. Their coat is very thick and they would have a hard time staying cool.
Siberian Huskies can spend time indoors, however, they need a significant amount of exercise every day, and thus it is not good to keep them in an apartment. They should spend most or a lot of their time in a yard, unless it is hot (they do not tolerate heat well). However, they are perfectly fine outside even on a very cold day.
Huskies are domestic dogs, not wild animals. They live where ever people own them. They may be found in cold, hot or temperate climates.
sometimes, but it is always a good idea to get them cooled down. You also have to remember about the dogs daily exercise. A husky will NOT make a good apartment dog.
It might be too hot for them, so make sure that they have lots of food, water, and shade. I also suggest that you should have air conditioning.
-60 degrees Celsius to about 35-40. I live in Australia, gets pretty hot here my husky does just fine
Siberian cats are actually "Indoor cats" so they spend most of their time inside instead of out; but I suppose it does bother them, because they have thick fur.
Siberian Huskies were first bred to pull heavy loads across miles of ice and snow in sub-zero conditions, so pulling and surviving in cold weather is their strongest points. They do not do well in hot weather (due to their thick coats) and need lots of daily exercise. They also shed alot throughout the year. They are usually friendly and well-balanced dogs that rarely suffer from health problems unless they are from inbred lines.
Young healthy dogs should get 45 minutes to an hour of arobic exercise every day. During warm weather, this should be done early in the morning, before it gets hot. If you live in a warm climate, a husky isn't the best idea. Siberian Huskies MUST have regular opportunities to vent their energy. Otherwise they will become rambunctious and bored -- which they usually express by howling and destructive chewing.
they live in a mostly hot weather
