This is a sexually transmitted disease.

Parasitic in nature.

Men can get it although most women notice problems where as men might not.

It is believed to increase the risc of prostate cancer in men.

It can be treated and both you and your partner should be treated at the same time regardless of symptoms he might or might not have.

Regards.

Screening men for trichomoniasis is not usually done, as it has low sensitivity. The sensible thing to do is for the male to take treatment, without testing, to ensure that both partners are clear of the infection. If your male partner states he was tested for trichomoniasis, and you have your doubts, ask if he can provide a copy of the test results before assuming the "blame" for the infection.

Testing for trichomoniasis in men is difficult and relatively rare. Testing for trich is also relatively insensitive. You can be infected and have a negative test.
