A Medical Assistant cannot refer herself as being a nurse, since they are two different titles (a nurse would be an RN, LPN or a Practical Nurse). Many doctors refer to their Medical Assistants as nurses but they are incorrect in doing so.

Answer: No there is a big difference. A CNA first of all has only so many weeks of training and their training is mainly to help the nurse. A MA goes to school for up to 2 years. They are trained in many different fields from passing out meds to minor surgery and all the clerical work. Nowadays a MA is equivalent to what a LPN nurse was 5 years ago. www.AAMA.com for more information.

What is the difference between a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Nurses Aide?

They're the same thing. The official title is "Certified Nursing Assistant" (CNA). This title has many variants, such as "Certified Nurse Aide" or "Nurse Aide". A CNA is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Note that A CNA is different from a "Home Health Aide" (HHA). A HHA requires less education. See the referenced link below for more information.

What is an assistant nurse?

There is no such thing as an assistant nurse. There are CNA's and assistive hospital personel. CNA stands for Certified Nurse Assistant. Though these people are not nurses they do aide nurses a great deal. They have a few months of training and a certificate to do the job that they do. Mostly, they record vitals for the nurse (pulse, blood pressure, temp, ect.), they make beds, give bed baths to patients, change diapers, feed patients, and help move patients. With out these people nurses would have too much work to do, so RN's are respectful of them.

Registered medical assistant vs certified medical assistant?

- CNA, you get way more respect. MOAs are basically secretaries that take blood pressure. Alright above is the previous answer, which is Bs and false; difference between a MA, RN, LPN, ETC.. is they can do everything a CNA cannot do. Difference how - CNA is a Medical Assistant's slave, however Medical Assistants dont just do Vital Signs, we can do shots and everything LPN or RN can do. How I am a Medical Assistant. CNA's actually less respect than anything else want to know more go to ur local ER and check it out. Working in a medical office can be both challenging and fun. The great thing about being a medical office assistant is that healthcare jobs have grown throughout the recession and are poised to grow further as the recent health insurance law kicks in! In other words, the field offers job stability. Medical office assistants work the front end of the medical office. The greet clients, check Ids, verify insurance, set up referrals, and sometimes assist with billing.
