I strongly believe Accutane usage can later elevate prolactin levels.
Accutane is a toxic drug. Roche doesn't even know how it works. It wreaks havoc on the pituitary gland and there is evidence that retinoids are able to induce the transcription of the dopamine receptor type 2 (D2R) gene in cultured pituitary cells, this effect being due to the presence of a functional retinoic acid response element (RARE) in the D2R promoter.
There are too many reports of elevated prolactin from former Accutane users for there not to be some link. I took Accutane and my energy gradually decreased over several years...I was in my young 20's. After a couple years my sex drive was literally to the point that I could care less...again in my young 20's. This stuff is TOXIC. Roche cares about one thing - MONEY. Big PHARM has been caught 1,000's of times lying to consumers. I hate to say it but if you took Accutane you'll probably NEVER be the person you could have been. It's a life changing Rx for the worse.
I recommend if you've been harmed by this drug to spend at least 10 or 20 hours emailing every big P.I. law firm explaining your case and what this Rx did to you. You'll never be able to get the lost years of poor health back but maybe you can get some justice.
Accutane would have nothing to do with the person getting mentally ill, therefore who knows if they will get normal again!
It can cause a number of very serious birth defects. Some of the most common are:Visual impairmentHearing impairment and/or missing earlobesFacial malformationsMental retardationHeart defectsGlandular and central nervous system malformations
The person who invented the elevated train is a man by the name of George Pullman.
Hypoglycemia is the word that means a condition in which a person has elevated levels of glucose in the bloodstream.
a person (often used to express their significance, importance, or elevated status)
Why would a person have elevated T- cell after death...they were high enough to not allow tissue donation
A person does not 'develop' autism - a person is born autistic.
When a person suffers an injury, prolactin and dopamine levels increase. Meanwhile, insulin, thyroid hormones, FSH, LH, estrogen, and testosterone decrease.
A person does not develop autism, autism is not something that occurs to neurotypical people, in the same way that a white person doesn't develop into another race. A person is born autistic, their brains form in the womb.
Initially drugs like Accutane were linked to depression and suicide. Recent studies have shown this may not be true however. One can't ignore the possibility that most people with acne severe enough for Accutane likely already feel depressed about their condition. Compile that with the drug side effects or even worse if the drug doesn't clear their acne. Any of those factors could contribute to statistics showing a correlation between Accutane and depression/suicide. Given all of that there is no way to tell how every person will react to any drug. There is always a possibility of bad reaction, but I wouldn't say that this is something that would make this treatment option out of the question. Ask your physician.
There are many very severe side effects of Accutane. In fact, the original manufacturer stopped making the drug in 2009 due to lawsuits over severe and chronic illnesses associated with its use. Among the worst effects are suicide attempts, severe birth defects, and severe digestive system disorders. It is available under the iPLEDGE system.
