The base of most floral scents is attar of roses. This is a very concentrated base essential oil. Jasnine seems to be very popular as well. Gardenia is a very distinctive scent.Lavendar is an old stand-by that is still popular. Violets as well. There are mixed florals and white florals and what are called single note florals. My personal floral is afragrance called Muguet de Bois, which is a single note floral of lillies of the valley. Try your local craft store for supplies and books.Homemade perfume is not like soup. You can't just wing it. The base operations are chemistry. The creative parts come later.Don't be discouraged if you don't achieve the desired result immediately. Some scents are years in development, If you are looking to make a signature fragrance for yourself, keep notes as you go so you can replicate the winner when you find it. Get input from family and friends when testing. Best wishes and good luck. This will require perseverance if you are serious in this pursuit.
